Role Description

We are currently seeking a Litigation Associate (Texas-licensed) who is eager to take initiative in working cases and to grow with a trial-driven team. This role is a strong fit for a self-starter who wants real, hands-on litigation experience, brings initiative, and learns quickly with close partner-level guidance and coaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Take depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and experts
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and legal memorandum
• Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings
• Manage full litigation cycle for assigned cases
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, experts, and witnesses
• Conduct legal research and case analysis

Key Requirements

Must-Haves

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in Texas (or able to obtain promptly)
• Early-career litigation experience is preferred (including strong clerking/internship experience) but you do not need to have “seen it all” to succeed here
• Self-starter with strong initiative to continuously progress cases and a genuine willingness to learn and be mentored
• Strong writing, organization, and consistent follow-through (you will be trusted with real responsibility early)

Sets You Apart

• Medical background or clinical exposure (e.g., EMT, paramedic, scribe, RN/tech experience)
• Multiple years of litigation experience, especially in medical malpractice defense
• Chapter 74 experience (expert reports, dismissal motions, and related strategy)
• Existing client relationships and/or a portable book of business
• Meaningful deposition/hearing experience
