About the Role
We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Immigration Attorney to join our Houston office. This position focuses on both removal defense and humanitarian relief, including VAWA, T visas, and U visas. You'll represent clients before EOIR and USCIS, working on high-impact cases that change lives.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in removal/deportation proceedings before the Immigration Court (EOIR)
Prepare and file applications for relief including Asylum, Withholding of Removal, CAT, and Cancellation of Removal
Handle humanitarian cases including:
VAWA self-petitions
U Visa and T Visa applications
Waivers (I-601, I-212) and adjustment of status
Conduct thorough client intakes and assess eligibility for relief
Draft affidavits, legal briefs, and motions
Represent clients in USCIS interviews and respond to RFEs and NOIDs
Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in firm case management systems
Provide trauma-informed, culturally competent legal representation
Collaborate with legal support staff and community partners
Participate in legal clinics, outreach events, and continuing education opportunities
What We’re Looking For
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in any U.S. state (Texas preferred)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in immigration law, with a focus on removal defense and humanitarian-based relief
Spanish fluency strongly preferred (additional languages a plus)
Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Demonstrated commitment to serving immigrant communities and survivors of trauma
Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
