This position serves as a counsel to the Wyoming Public Service Commission, providing legal advice to the Commission and its technical staff on issues related to state and federal law applicable to public utility regulation, management of contested case proceedings including investigation of utility applications, and conduct of public hearings under the Wyoming Administrative Procedures Act as an administrative hearing officer.
Familiarity with public utility law and other energy issues is preferable. However, to the extent that you do not have public utility experience, but you have an interest in this area of law, we encourage you to apply.
The Public Service Commission will consider applicants that possess a Juris doctorate, or are a member of or qualified to be a member of the Wyoming State Bar.
The Office of Consumer Advocate is an independent office within the Wyoming Public Service Commission that is statutorily authorized to appear before the Wyoming Public Service Commission and advocate for the interests of utility ratepayers and citizens of the state in proceedings involving public utilities.
