Seeking a Trusts and Estates Tax Attorney for Charleston, South Carolina with at least 5 years of experience in the areas of complex estate planning and related estate/gift tax, corporate, and personal wealth and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals, business owners and families. Must be admitted or willing to be admitted to the South Carolina Bar and have an LL.M. degree. Should be a certified specialist in tax or estate planning.
The candidate will create estate plans for clients, consult with and advise fiduciaries in probate and trust administration, work on contested estate/trust matters, review estate and gift tax returns (including complex reporting and valuation issues), and assist clients in the establishment of private foundations and other charitable vehicles.
Must have experience working with high net-worth individuals in the design and drafting of their estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, premarital agreements, and other estate planning documents. Should be experienced with family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, shareholder agreements, installment sales, complex business transactions and other related transactions. Must have prepared and be comfortable with IDGTS, SLATS, CRTS, CLTS, GRATS, QPRTS, FLPS and SCINS.

The ideal candidate will have good client management and development skills, ability to manage, coordinate and cooperate with legal staff and associates. Salary would be commensurate with experience, but ultimately would be expected to generate own revenue over time. Flexibility with in-office hours (full-time or part-time) will be considered as well as the opportunity to buy into the practice.
