The Port of Oakland is currently recruiting for a Deputy Port Attorney III. The incumbent, reporting to the Port Attorney, will provide expert legal counsel for the Port on a wide variety of complex legal matters; may function as project leader on selected legal projects; and may perform other related duties at the equivalent level.
The Port Attorney’s Office is seeking candidates with expertise in the following practice area:
Procurement of goods and services, IT transactions, and public works contracting: Counsel on matters relating to the procurement of goods and services, including information technology transactions and public works contracting. This work will cover the spectrum of the procurement process such as bid/proposal preparation, contract drafting and negotiations, bid protests, and contract claim resolution.
Minimum requirements include: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a juris doctorate and five years of professional work as an attorney. Must pass the State of California Bar Examination and be licensed to practice law in all California State Courts, Federal District Courts in California, Courts of Appeal in California and the District of Columbia. Must be a current member of the California State Bar Association.
