A Mid-size Chicago-based Insurance Defense firm has an immediate opening for Associate Attorneys to handle local and national accounts. Admission to practice in Illinois and/or Washington is required. Secondary admission to the Texas, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and/or Iowa bar will be given preference. Our firm’s expertise is diverse, but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, general and professional liability. This is an active position that requires case management skills, precision in legal writing, and a professional demeanor at depositions and court hearings in multiple jurisdictions. Candidates must be hard-working, motivated, and capable of independent work. Candidate must also have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills, must possess the ability to think on their feet and respond strategically, and have a client focused mentality.

Position responsibilities include:

1. Independently manage a litigation caseload.
2. Review, analyze, and draft discovery requests.
3. Conduct depositions.
4. Prepare and argue motions.
5. Trial preparation and support.
6. Investigate facts.
7. Preparing witnesses for deposition and trial.
8. Attend court hearings and trials.
9. Maintain accurate time records.
