Ice Miller is seeking a collegial, dynamic, and equity-minded Recruiting and Professional Development Senior Coordinator. The person in this role will be trusted with the responsibility for providing strong, independent support to Ice Miller’s Attorney Talent team and related committees as well as coordinating the law student interviewing program. The employee will be crucial to supporting the recruiting and hiring of a diverse roster of law students and for assisting in the planning of timely and relevant professional development programming across all Firm locations. The employee must be excited about and comfortable with working independently, using autonomous and measured judgment in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and will be trusted to maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
This position is open to Indianapolis, Chicago, and Columbus Ohio.
•Will have primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, and execution of Ice Miller’s law student interviewing programs, including but not limited to:
•Registering the Firm for student interviewing programs including on-campus interviews, resume collections, and job postings at law schools and job fairs
•Liaising between attorneys and candidates to coordinate interviews and ensure all necessary arrangements are made and details have been confirmed
•Preparing schedules and candidate materials for student interviews
•Synthesizing interview evaluations and providing summaries and recommendations, where appropriate, and communicating with recruiting committee members throughout decision-making process
•Drafting and executing law student offer letters
•Completing surveys and reporting data regarding student recruiting at Ice Miller including keeping accurate directory entries
•Contributing to the development and upkeep of marketing materials and promotional items for Ice Miller’s summer associate program
•Building relationships with all school partners through timely communications, attendance at industry events, and updating contact directories
•Collaborating with Attorney Talent team to identify opportunities, organize for, and attend and/or make arrangements for attorneys to attend recruiting events to meet with students and present information about the Firm
•Liaise with Human Resources to understand all pre-hire requirements and ensure the recruiting team is updating and executing firm hiring procedures accordingly
•Managing the attorney recruiting database and ensuring the accuracy of candidate and position information for use in future decision-making
•Working with the Attorney Talent team to support the summer program, including trainings, programming, events, etc.
•Provide support to the Firm’s Feedback and Development Committee (FDC), the Firm’s monthly professional development programming, and other programs, committees, or ad hoc committees that the Attorney Talent team serves, as necessary.
•Maintain relevant files, prepare and print documents and agendas for programs and meetings
•Provide support and assistance, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, setting up programs, calendaring, invoices, expense reimbursements, and travel arrangements for Talent Team programming, as requested
•Schedule meetings and ensure all a/v, catering, and meeting room, including virtual, needs are set-up for trainings, academies, and meetings as requested
•Provide in-program technical support during virtual training sessions including assisting with log-in problems, assigning groups to breakout rooms, and monitoring chat function as requested
•Provide excellent client service to a diverse group of professionals including attorneys, prospective candidates, law school and community partners, and other professionals throughout the Firm in responding to questions and concerns regarding the Team’s activities
•Communicate with external vendors to implement necessary changes and upgrades, problem-solve, and identify new processes to improve systems
•Learn technologies adopted to manage student recruiting and professional development programs as necessary
•Input and manage data in multiple databases, including viEval, IceLearn, Smartsheets, and any future programs adopted by the Firm
•Create and disseminate surveys and feedback requests, and analyze survey results as requested
•Meaningfully contribute to improvement of Attorney Talent team’s programs, policies, and procedures
•Provide back up support to the Recruiting & Professional Development Coordinator and Recruiting Assistant as needed
•Assist with various research projects/special projects as requested
•Collaborate with all members of the Attorney Talent team on internal growth and development of the team, participate in team meetings, and create relationships among and between other business units
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Prior experience in student recruiting and/or legal recruiting preferred
