Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire an Attorney Recruiting Specialist reporting to the Attorney Recruiting Manager. This position will reside in the New York, NY office and will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of activities supporting the overall planning, management and administration of law student and lateral attorney recruiting and integration.
A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
Law Student Recruiting:
Coordinates all aspects of the 1L, 2L, and entry-level associate recruitment process.
Works with manager in overseeing all law student outreach programs, including 1L events, diversity and inclusion events, Law School Alliance Team events, etc.
Maintains relationship/communication with career services offices and law student organization leaders.
Coordinates organization and planning of internal and external law student receptions and coordinates follow-up recruitment efforts.
Maintains LawCruit and other recruiting databases; prepares data driven status reports.
Receives and reviews incoming candidate resumes; oversees all candidate communication.
Compiles information for annual NALP and other market data collection and reporting agencies.
Coordinates on-campus interview process, including: registration, hospitality suites, Symplicity accounts, resume screening, attorney travel, pre and post-OCI events and maintains consistent communication with career services personnel.
Travels on-campus and accompanies attorneys to staff hospitality suites and coordinate interview rooms, as needed.
Schedules and coordinates all callback interview schedules and receptions.
Assists manager with preparation for recruiting committee meetings.
Assists manager in the offer and follow-up process for rising 2Ls.
Lateral Associate Recruiting:
Assists manager with initiating searches.
Assists manager and supports practice group in identifying qualified candidates.
Coordinates scheduling, screening and callback interviews with candidates and attorneys.
Prepares candidate interview packages and offer letters.
Coordinates all onboarding tasks for lateral associate new hires.
Summer Associate Program:
Assists manager with coordination of the New York summer program, including local office orientation, training programs, orientation, social events, attorney participation, etc.
Coordinates assignment process, including maintaining robust pipeline of available summer associate projects, collecting evaluations and monitoring workload.
Coordinates the planning and organization of summer social events; attends all social events.
Acts as a main resource to all summer associates; respond to general questions from summer associates and attorneys about the program.
Communicates frequently with summer associates regarding integration and summer experience.
Fall Associate Orientation:
Maintains fall associate pipeline and clerkship data.
Coordinates all onboarding involved with the entering fall associate class each year.
Coordinates bar exam registration and bar review courses.
Coordinates relocation stipends and interest-free loan programs.
Coordinates the Fall Associate orientation.
Note:
This job may require occasional travel to law schools and other Morgan Lewis offices.
This job requires the flexibility to work overtime or beyond the regular business hours, specifically evenings and weekends during the Summer and Fall.
Experience/Qualifications
This job requires:
A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, and
A minimum of 3 years of related recruiting or Human Resources experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
