Morrison & Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 16 offices worldwide, has an opening for an Attorney Diversity & Inclusion Specialist within our Attorney Diversity and Inclusion Department. We are inviting applications from candidates interested in working in any of the following Morrison & Foerster offices: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Washington D.C..
The Attorney Diversity & Inclusion Specialist designs, coordinates and manages, tracks, and evaluates initiatives and programs designed to support the recruitment of diverse attorneys and summer associates. The successful candidate will partner with appropriate parties to implement diversity initiatives and organize local and firmwide diversity programs, and assist in benchmarking, reporting, and maintaining diversity & inclusion records.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following;
Assist D+I Manager with tracking all diversity candidates, their touch points, performance reviews, etc.
Assist D+I Manager with Program Management of the Wetmore Fellowship and the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity program.
Correspond with attorney recruiting team, law schools and candidates, as directed by CDIO and/or D+I Managers.
Affinity Network/Affinity Group Management
Fully support the firm's Affinity Networks and Affinity Network Liaisons (partners), all Affinity Groups (Associates/Staff) including helping to schedule meetings, taking notes, coordinating and facilitating events, tracking Network/Group budgets, tracking sponsorships by affinity, prepare presentations to DSC, update websites, circulating invites, etc.
Manage collection and creation of Annual Affinity Group Report.
Manage Affinity Networks and Groups with Heritage Month Planning.
Assist with D+I and Women's Initiatives' event coordination and planning.
Track all diversity related sponsorships and diversity events.
Take notes for D+I Team, DSC, Affinity Network, and D+I/WI meetings.
Help send Quarterly Welcome Letters to all new associates from CDIO/DSC.
Handle follow up with attorneys on all MoFo sponsored diversity events, initiatives and programs (help with tracking budgets, where necessary).
Assist with creation of PowerPoints, agendas, and marketing material.
Marketing support. Act as resource to D+I and Marketing Teams regarding diversity-related information relating to attorneys of color and, as appropriate, other minority attorneys and LGBT requested from clients and external organizations sponsoring surveys and awards.
Diversity Community & Recruiting Pages. Help maintain Diversity Community & Recruiting pages and resources on the firm's intranet.
Diversity knowledge. Keep current on attorney diversity-related issues within the firm and, to a lesser extent, in the larger legal community.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years of recruiting, admissions or diversity experience in a professional services firm, an institution of higher education, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Law firm/school experience preferred.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with Taleo (or other ATS).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside the firm.
