The Ad Council is seeking ahighly-motivated, detail-oriented Attorney, with contract negotiation experience and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.This is acontract,currentlyremotepositionthatwillwork as one of twolegal counsels for an organization that creates and executes communication strategies for 40+ campaigns each year.
The idealcandidate willneed topossess excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. To succeed in this role, you will need to possess andexemplify excellent business judgment and critical thinking,a high degree of accountability,and a strong work ethic.
Timing and Employment Length:
This is a contract employee role.This means that, while the positionis at all timesone of at will employment, the Ad Council anticipates at present that the employment length would be 3-6 months with the possibility to extend the contract.The Ad Council is looking to fill the position immediately.Contract employees will be eligible toparticipateinlimited benefits and paid time off.
Core Job Responsibilities:
This positionwill reportto theSVP, Legal & BusinessAffairsandwork with members of all departmentsat the Ad Council.In a givenweek, you may find yourself reviewing and negotiating contracts with ad agencies, clients and vendors, reviewing talent releases, or reaching out to music houses to license songs for our commercials.
Providing legal guidance to various business groups.
Drafting,negotiatingand revising contracts.
Ensuring compliance with contracts, government rules and contracting regulations.
Overseeing contract review process and contract distribution.
Advising internal clients on legal issues concerning advertising and marketing campaigns.
Participating in special projects as needed.
Core Experience and Skills:
Undergraduate and JD degrees,andadmission to the NY bar.
Legal experience in a relevantindustry and contracting experience
Ability to work independentlyand on a teamand manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage, plan and organizesignificantwork flow.
Excellentwritten and oral communication skills.
Stronginterpersonal and relationship skills.
Strong analyticaland negotiation skills.
A high degree of self-motivation.
