LOCATION: 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office located in either Fort Morgan and/or Sterling, Colorado
SALARY: Salary starts at $70,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience and expertise. Salary includes full medical, dental and vision benefits for employee.
RELOCATION: A one-time relocation bonus may be offered to the selected applicant
CLOSING DATE: Open until filled
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Prepares and prosecutes criminal cases from charging through trial; reviews investigative reports; works closely with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute; writes pleadings, briefs, and related materials; negotiates plea agreements; appears in court; conducts motions, pleas, and sentencing
Confers and advises law enforcement officers concerning charges, investigations, and criminal law
Interviews and prepares victims and witnesses
Possess excellent oral and written skills to communicate effectively
Ability to exercise discretion
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and statutes
Knowledge of principles and practices of criminal law, procedure, and evidence
Law degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, eligible for admission On Motion, or eligible for admission on UBE Score Transfer. The District Attorney’s Office will assist with the cost of any Attorney admission fees or dues.
Must successfully pass a background check.
