Day Pitney LLP has an opening for an Attorney Recruiting Specialist. This position may be based in either the Hartford, CT or Parsippany, NJ office. This individual will coordinate all aspects of the entry-level recruiting process (including on-campus recruiting and the Summer Associate program) and will provide backup for lateral recruiting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years recruiting in a law firm environment.
Entry Level and Law Student Hiring: Provide strategy and direction for law student and entry-level recruiting. Build and maintain strong relationships with law school career services at target law schools; plan strategic outreach and communication efforts; provide advice to hiring committees regarding recruitment initiatives; review resumes and schedule on campus interviews for selected applicants. Coordinate onboarding for hired applicants.
Summer Associate Program: Manage the process of designing and overseeing the Firm’s summer program, including offer decisions, work assignments, evaluations, training, scheduling of Summer Associate events and with skills development, in coordination with the members of the Organization and Talent Development team.
Lateral Attorney Hiring: Support Legal Recruitment Manager in the recruitment processes to source qualified candidates draft and post attorney job postings, review resumes, perform background checks and implement strategies that increase the firm’s capability to attract, assess, select, and integrate talent. Work with Legal Recruitment Manager, senior leadership team, including Department Charis and Business Unit Leaders to review utilization and provide approvals for new searches. Assist Legal Recruitment Manager in drafting offer letters and coordination of new hire paperwork for hired applicants.
Five or more years law firm recruiting experience.
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Effective communication skills and ability to establish working relationships with all levels of firm personnel.
Travel to other Firm offices and to law schools
