We seek a Legal HR and Attorney Development Coordinator to provide efficient, responsive, and thoughtful administrative, logistical, and organizational support to the Legal Human Resources and Attorney Development function in the Washington office. The successful candidate will support activities including onboarding, reviews, continuing legal education, lawyer retention, and other aspects of associate life. Working in a fast paced environment, the Coordinator will primarily focus on matters related to legal personnel and associate development. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, adept at balancing competing demands, professional, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Reports to: Senior Legal HR and Attorney Development Manager
Provide general assistance to the Legal HR and Attorney Development department as it relates to onboarding and offboarding of Washington legal personnel.
Coordinate relocation logistics, salary advances, background checks, and conflict checks in preparation for incoming legal personnel.
Schedule and facilitate onboarding schedule for incoming legal personnel.
Prepare exit interview forms and schedule departure meetings for departing legal personnel.
Responsible for all HRIS data entry and reporting related to HR processes including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, etc.
Maintain updated information on intranet site for all legal personnel.
Administer the Corporate Credit Card program. Process new corporate card applications, departures, transfers, and replacement cards.
Assist Attorney Development team members with annual review, new associate review, and interim review processes. Responsibilities will include soliciting feedback, inputting evaluations into database, preparation of draft review files, distribution of final reviews for delivery to associates, and scheduling and tracking of meetings and debriefing notes.
Create and distribute productivity reports on weekly and monthly basis.
Create and distribute monthly staffing reports to determine associates’ individual workflow capacities, comings and goings, and identify potential staffing issues or opportunities.
Track mentoring meetings and corresponding debriefing notes.
Maintain outstanding diaries tracking chart.
Serve as resource to associates for questions relating to individual professional development in addition to Firm expectations, policies, and resources (staffing, hours, policies, benefits, etc.).
Provide general assistance on ad-hoc requests and projects
Bachelor’s Degree required.
2+ years of Professional Development or HR-related experience in a fast-paced environment. Law firm experience preferred.
Must be comfortable working with lawyers at all seniority levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required. Experience with Workday and viDesktop preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with utmost care and discretion.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment; excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize among competing deadlines and tasks.
