Work you'll do
Deloitte LLP is searching for an attorney to specialize in vendor contracting to support its Government and Public Services (GPS) focused business practices.
Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, primarily technology-related agreements, such as license agreements, hosting agreements, software development agreements, SaaS, and managed service provider agreements.
Advise and provide solutions to internal business clients serving GPS industry-based clients on issues specific to vendor contracting and relationships.
Provide legal advice regarding negotiation strategies, contractual terms, intellectual property matters, supplier relations and compliance matters.
Work with colleagues and other Deloitte personnel to identify and mitigate risks.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
4 - 6 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a leading law firm and/or large in-house department.
2+ years of focused legal practice in analysis, review, drafting and negotiating complex vendor contracts.
Experience with technology-related agreements, such as license agreements, software development agreements, hosting agreements, and SaaS.
Experience with intellectual property-related issues that arise in the context of supplier agreements.
Experience advising various stakeholders on contractual and other transactional matters, preferably regarding procurement-related issues.
Experience in negotiating data licenses, artificial intelligence and machine learning agreements is not required but a plus.
Expertise in federal government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and/or knowledge of state and local government procurement rules is not required but a plus.
Active member of a U.S. State bar.
Aptitude for learning. Must be able to quickly understand trends in vendor contracting generally.
