We are looking for a Digital Technology & Privacy Attorney to join Hasbro’s multifaceted Legal Department! The Digital Technology & Privacy practice group leads Hasbro’s global data privacy program and works on data and technology matters across Hasbro's business. This collaborative role provides an opportunity to learn about new technologies and approaches to deliver positive results! Remote candidates in the U.S. may be considered. Occasional travel to our Rhode Island headquarters when offices reopen may be requested. A Day in the Life of a Digital Technology & Privacy Attorney: - Draft a variety of agreements for websites, mobile apps, VR/AR experiences, and other digital products and services. This includes development and work-for-hire agreements, technology acquisition agreements, and technology licenses.
- Counsel clients on digital product/service development and global consumer data privacy and cybersecurity issues – including COPPA, CCPA/CRPA, and GDPR - throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Perform privacy impact assessments and develop and implement data privacy documentation (notices, consents, terms of service, etc.), resources, tools, and standard methodologies across business units.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of our global privacy program. This involves drafting and updating policies and notices, crafting and implementing program forms and templates, establishing standard methodologies, evaluating program performance, and collaborating with our IT Security team.
- Build and deliver training on relevant legal topics for business clients and legal colleagues.
What you’ll bring: - J.D. from an accredited law school, excellent academic credentials, and bar membership in good standing.
- 2-5 years of proven relevant experience in one or more of the areas noted above, or comparable work experience.
- Proven record of working effectively in cross-functional teams with colleagues from different fields.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate legal risks to a non-legal audience.
- Outstanding organizational skills with a consistent track record of prioritizing a diverse workload and completing projects on time.
- Ability to see the big picture and also get into the details when needed.
- CIPP/US or other privacy certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals is a plus, but not required.
