Associate Attorney (Removal Defense)

Position Duties: Job position primarily entails the legal representation of Franco v. Holder class members in all aspects of their cases, including before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The attorney will deal with third parties, including social service providers, medical providers and government officials. The attorney will be expected to meet with clients detained at the Adelanto Detention Center in Adelanto, California and provide representation before the Adelanto Immigration Court. The attorney will also represent detained and non-detained class members before the Los Angeles Immigration Court. This position will also involve the legal representation of other non-Franco firm clients, as necessary.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree and active bar license (California preferred). Experience working with immigrants as well as a fundamental knowledge of immigration law and court procedures. Must exhibit strong writing skills, excellent communication skills and client interviewing abilities as well as the ability to work under pressure. Must be fluent in Spanish, written and spoken. Must be willing and able to travel to immigration detention centers. |
