The New York State Bar Association, a nonprofit professional association based in Albany, is currently seeking a full time Director of Attorney Engagement and Retention. The position is tasked with the establishment, coordination and monitoring of Association-wide efforts to increase retention and recruitment of association members.
The Director of Attorney Engagement and Retention will play a pivotal role in executing the new vision for the engagement and retention of members. Managing a team of 3, the Director will work collaboratively with department staff to create meaningful programs and re-align services to best support members with a strong focus on the use of supporting technologies and social media. The Director will lead the execution of these plans and evaluate their success. In addition, this individual will analyze data and strategic planning results to identify the needs of current and potential members along the spectrum of their career.
A bachelor’s degree in a business discipline is required. A J.D. or some legal education is preferred. The incumbent will also possess 5-7 years of experience in marketing, membership, development or related field with a heavy emphasis on digital formats. 3-5 years of demonstrated success in the strategic and tactical direction of membership strategies involving the use of supporting technologies and social media is also required.
