Investigate and litigate cases involving claims of wrongful conviction alongside post-conviction counsel at the Loyola Project for the Innocent. The Staff Attorney will also supervise law students and interns on their assigned cases.
Juris Doctor Degree
Be a member in good standing of the California State Bar, or be awaiting bar results, by October 2017.
A minimum one year of experience practicing law (will consider law school clinical experience). Prior post-conviction, criminal, or other in-court litigation experience or training is valued and strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills Must have strong case management, legal research, and writing skills. Must be able to work with a diverse group of constituencies from different culture, geographic and economic backgrounds, including individuals with criminal history and history of severe trauma. Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple demands in a busy work environment. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Demonstrated computer competency and knowledgeable of Microsoft Office systems. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is preferred.
